§ 1-9. Conflicting ordinances.

  • (a)

    If conflicting provisions are found in different sections of the same chapter of this Code, the provisions of the section which is last adopted shall prevail unless construction is inconsistent with the meaning of such chapter.

    (b)

    If conflicting provisions are found in different chapters or parts of this Code, interpretation shall be reconciled by reference to federal statute and case law, state statute and case law, town ordinance or bylaw, department rules and regulations, in descending order. To the extent possible, any such conflict shall be resolved by the town board of selectmen acting upon the recommendation of the town attorney.
