§ 32-530. Billing procedure—Payable at municipal building; basis charges.

Water bills are payable at the town hall on a timely basis as may be determined by
the board of selectmen. In the event that the department is unable to read a meter
because of the absence of the occupant, the billing shall be based upon the amount
of water used during the previous billing period. In the case of meter failure or
removal, charges for water consumption shall be based on an average of the amount
registered over similar periods preceding such unmetered service. The department shall
periodically bill owners for water service in accordance with the water rate and fee
schedule. The department may render bills either monthly or quarterly.
